Tardy Policy
Period One (calculated for the year)
Students who are late to school must first check in with the office, they will come to class with a tardy pass from the front office (the tardy will already be entered in PowerSchool). A student who has a medical/dental appointment before school starts and arrives late to school must bring a note from the medical/dental office. The following procedures will be in place for students who are tardy to school.
- Tardy 1 to 2: Students will check in with the attendance clerk in the office. No consequence for being tardy. Students will receive a reminder to be at school on time.
- Tardy 3: Students will be referred to the school counselor to evaluate the needs of the student and to identify strategies and programs to assist the student to be at school on time. Parents will be contacted.
- Tardy 5: Students will be referred to Assistant Principal. Arriving Late/Leaving Early Letter will be issued.
- Tardy 10+: Mandatory Parent and Student meeting with Assistant Principal.
Periods 2 through 7 (tardies per period)
- For every 3 tardies to a class period:
- The teacher will assign a Minor Referral
- Administration will notify parents and assign detention before school or lunch detention
- After 3 behavior referrals (for tardies or other behaviors),
students will be placed on probation. Probation includes:
- No participation in any school activities such as:
- Assemblies
- Rallies
- Field trips
- Sports teams
- Dances
- Attendance at any after-school activities
